With average assessment times at around 5 to 6 minutes, as measured independently and by Plain Healthcare (Avia’s wholly owned subsidiary), Odyssey TeleAssess ensures that call length is always appropriate to the circumstances

Safe

Over 10 million calls have been supported since 1995 and we’ve never had to withdraw any clinical content. Designed by clinicians for clinicians, Odyssey emulates a natural consultation process using Bayesian logic, which enables the evaluation of multiple symptoms concurrently through open questioning of the patient. The child safety features of Odyssey are particularly noteworthy and conform to the most exacting of standards.

Assessments

Odyssey provides the user with a network of assessment prompts and guided responses relating to over 450 presenting complaints. It allows for multiple symptoms to be evaluated simultaneously, supported by evidence-based frameworks for referral and self-care, with all assessment data remaining visible at all times. It supports the clinician's judgment and expertise through enhancing normal consultation processes.
The assessment screens include regularly up-dated referenced information on differential diagnoses and rationales for lines of enquiry for each type of presentation - so reminding the user about the importance of different lines of enquiry.

Triage

Expect around 50% of Odyssey telephone assessments to be triaged to routine appointments or self care advice. Again, this is based upon independent studies plus our continuous benchmarking. Extensive reporting tools empower administrators to analyze the service in as much depth as they wish.

Advice

Always appropriate, always up to date. Whether considering rationales for lines of enquiry and differential diagnoses, or self care and first aid advice or educational information, Odyssey provides detailed decision support in an unobtrusive, flexible manner. All referral pathways are locally configurable for total relevance.
